Your Treatment

Chiropractors treat a variety of musculoskeletal complaints. These include back pain, neck pain, sciatica, hip and pelvis pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, the elderly with chronic conditions, headaches and migraines.

I’m a firm believer that manipulation is a key component in helping you get better. However, there is often a muscular problem as well and I treat this with deep tissue massage. I believe because I take the time necessary and am prepared to do the hands-on work that I’m successful in getting people better.

When you first visit me, I take the time to get to know you and your lifestyle, not just your complaint. This allows me to treat your complaint more effectively and also give you advice to ensure that you stay healthier for longer. This is why I’m successful with chronic conditions as well as acute complaints.

If I can’t help you directly, I have a well established network of top specialists that I can refer you to. These are people who are top in their field that I work with on a day-to-day basis. I can also work alongside your GP as appropriate. Continuity is very important for your long term health. You will only see me at my practice. I will know your background and health history which means that I will be far more effective when treating future complaints.

How Long Does It Take To Get Better

An average course of treatment is five or six visits over a period of two to three weeks. However, some will require more or less treatment depending on the length of time that the complaint has existed. There should be positive changes after two or three treatments. If not, I would re-evaluate my treatment and decide if you need to be referred out. However, all my patients should know that they are not signed up for a long course of treatment. Sometimes, for long standing problems, regular preventive care maybe helping to prevent future re-occurrence. This is discussed at the end of the initial course of treatment.
